Compostables VS Biodegradables

Compostables bags are made from corn, an agricultural ressource. The wastes resulting from their degradation are entirely organic without any toxic residues. Biodegradables bags are made from fossil-based materials. Their degradation leaves pollutants residues in the environment.

Plastic bags : a threat for the environment.

Even worse than the visual nuisance they cause, these wastes are a major cause of dammage to birds and marine life.

A canadian study conducted in 1980 settled that plastic bags and other waste item scattered in the environment are killing 100 000 marine animals each year.
