DuroCasing artificial plastic casings are 5 layers of coextruded material used in the food and pet food industry. They are an economical format for cooking emulsified products such as turkey breast and bologna. They are also used for ground meat such as beef and pork. New trends include plant-based sausages and plant-based ground beef. Other uses include products such as polenta and shelf-stable pet food.
DuroCasing has four distinct types of materials depending on the application. In general, our DuroCasing line covers applications that require uniform caliber (product circumference), hang-style or horizontal cook, cook in mold, and fresh ground product.
